Portfolio and Blog of Dan Mowchan

About a month ago I came across a great independent band. They put on a good show and played some great music, so I offered to work on a website for them. I’m very happy with the final outcome and, today, their website is finally public and ready for everyone to see.

Aside from my own website, the Feetlips project was the first creative design I have had a chance to work on for a client. It was refreshing to be able to really design something fun.

When I first got started, I was basing my design off of their music and their Myspace page. I pulled out orange as the base color and let the creative juices flow. After some talks with the band and some more sessions in Photoshop, the website began to take on a look and life of its own — independent of what they already had.

The final website ended up looking a little different than the mockups — I’d say for the better, however. It was implemented using WordPress along with a selection of great plug-ins, including GigPress which I hadn’t used prior to this project. Check out the final product at www.feetlips.com.
